I am new to site and just was looking for some advice for people who carry heavy loads. Right now I have a stock 2014 (except 260 70 16 tires and custom made springs). I am retiring it as a daily driver and will just be used for hauling paint and drywall. I also plan on taking it on a trip across country. I think the first thing I would like to do would be lights for highway driving. Then maybe a shock upgrade. Thanks

    It's a secret
I had a 2005 Access Cab Pre-Runner V6 with the 6ft bed. Used it as my daily driver and work truck...18yrs construction under my belt...started off as a "gopher-boy" and worked my way to foreman.

I wasn't too easy on my 2nd Gen with hauling and towing, but I always kept a 200-300# cushion when either hauling OR towing. Never did both loaded at the same time. Max bed load I would do was ~1200#, and max towing was ~3200# with stock suspension. After about four years (2005 - late 2009) is when I noticed the shocks begin to -feel- softer and less robust, but they lasted until I sold it in 2016.
