2019 TRD Off Road Shudder

Hi,

I have a 2019 TRD Off Road and it's been doing something strange lately. It has less than 15K miles on it.

When I'm coming to a stop, the truck shudders sometimes, also happened earlier when I was accelerating from a stop. It felt like the transmission to me. Not idea. It's under warranty and I haven't brought it to the dealership yet. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or knows what may be causing it?

The only thing it reminded me of was being in the mountains in the snow when it would lose traction and it would do the traction control check, its a shuddering that seems related to the transmission or traction control.

Welcome...search the forums, it’s a very well known problem with the Tacoma’s. Mine does it all the time as does a lot of others trucks. Dealer always has the same response: “It’s normal, they do that” Some guys have had their whole rear end rebuilt and it most of the time returns. It’s something with the design in the driveline.

 

Grease your u joints on the drive shaft. I was having real bad shudder while braking. I recently greased my u joints and it seems much less pronounced.
