Yeah, I drag my hitch all the time. The tank is always on my mind. I do like being able to carry 35 gallons of gas with no jerry cans though. Fuel planning? What's that?

Not sure. We're just considering it as an option for now. It would have to make sense financially for us.

I believe the ballpark that would make sense for us would be between that Very Good and Excellent KBB pricing, but we just started talking about it... The trade-in value isn't too far below the private party, but I'm sure I upsell the extras and resale value to a dealer for trade; if not, I'd just walk. @OneGiraffe does love Blanche, but she'd also love a lifted full-size, and we could certainly use a diesel ranch truck with a flatbed now.

 

Decided to buy a Riv Nut tool. Have a need for it this week. But Amazon is out. Too slow. Harbor Freight has one but max size is 1/4 - 20. Too small. Need 1/2 inch, at least. Anyone have one I can borrow? Need to repair these holes in truck.

 

You need the outside diameter of the rivnut to be 1/2 inch? Or you need the bolt that goes in the rivnut to be 1/2 inch diameter minimum?

 

Try Grainger or Western Tool in San Jose?

 

Thinking the bolt needs to be at least 1/2". It'll be for the two back bolts on my IFS skid. Can't recall at this moment what there were. Since Toyota cut them out I didn't get a look. They weren't as big as the front and middle set from that skid.

 

I'll check the sizes I've got when I get home. That's a pretty damn big rivnut. Not sure I have one that size. I'll let you know.

 

1/4 - 20 just seemed so small. Maybe 3/8 would be ok

@Don5352... the biggest rivnuts I've got is M10. The equates to, the outside diameter of the actual rivnut is 1/2, and the bolt would be an M10 which is just a bit bigger than 3/8 at 25/64.

 

The front 4 bolts that hold up the skid on the 2nd gens are

$13 m12x1.25 mm self-locking nylon insert hex lock nuts, pack of 6

m12x1.25. The 2 in the back that he needs are much smaller. Probably like a m6 but unsure.

 

Yes, back ones are smaller. Wasn't certain of the size as I hadn't seen them in a year, or more. Then Toyota cut them off.
