Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

Since I was measuring up and down travel purely based on feeling resistance in the CV while spinning it by hand? There was certainly articulation left in the inner and outer. We'll see what the angle meter says.

 

The CV had better be the limiting factor in this design...

True. I can always make than a vertical orientation too, although I think I can get enough angle out of the hiem joint there.

 

Got the floor tubes in and b pillar done... the floor tubes over the rear hump were a huge pain in the ass- 3 bends all in different plains. I forgot to take pics but here is the one I did get

 

super clean. Tacoma cabs are a bit like origami in some spots. Next one should be so easy it could be a customer appreciation token guesture. I'll even strip the interior for ya. lol

Seriously though I’ve caged quite a few different trucks and this cab has some unique challenges. Now that I’ve done this one and have the general design the next one will be easier

I HATE that stupid rear bench....pita to deal with. everything is looking as it should. Paint and keys to the owner tomorrow? knockout Evenflow's by Friday, I'll see you Monday?? LOL

 

Just picked up 10 long travel kits from powder coat!

 

Got the cage all welded up, floors sealed up and gussets in. Just need to mount the seats and then cover everything in dynamat before interior guy goes nuts

What do you use for sealing?

 

Painting it? No cross bars at B-pillar? How about center of wind shield? What is the scope of the build? Desert Pre-Runner, Rock or trail/overland?

 

I weld everything to the floor and then use a 3M seam sealer

 

The cage will get painted with steel-it before the interior gets done. Nothing in the windshield and there will be a tube at the b pillar behind the seats... need to get them mounted before that tube goes in.

Truck is just a toy that can do it all and have the AC on and windows up the whole time
