    Hi all,

I just bought a 2010 4x4 SR5 access cab 2.7L 5M with 70k miles. I’m in New England and looking forward to spending time upgrading my truck. I’m thinking about getting the LED interior light kit to start with. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m going to spray my frame with Fluid Film this weekend. Any particular areas of the frame that I should be paying attention to? On mine it looks like the frame has the most rust behind the front wheels and under the front doors. As far as I can tell it still has the original frame from 2010.

Welcome, a good place to check would be the inner frame rails near the front set of catalytic converters (they are the ones on the headers/exhaust manifolds). The frame rails there are known to be a weak point/rusty spot

Sorry, didn't notice you had a 4 banger. Your cats are in a different place but I think the inner frame rails at the front are still a great place to check/inspect

Thanks for the info. I checked out some of the frame rust threads and saw pictures of where to look. I’m really hoping I don’t find any holes, I didn’t know to look in those spots when I bought the truck!

Thanks for all the welcome messages. I took a look near the cat area and the frame looks mint in that section. I banged on it with a giant wrench just to make sure, and it seemed solid, no metal flaked off. Most of the surface rust and flaking seems to be at the edges and seams where everything is welded together. I’ll probably take it to a dealer for my first oil change and have them check the frame out while i’m there just to make sure it’s ok.
