Waiting on USPS to deliver, stuff should be here by Friday.
In the meantime, I'm attempting to make a drive flange that will work with these wheels.

    This will be welded together.

and then welded to the wheel itself, hoping not to fry the bearings in the process.
then the plate gets drilled for the sprocket. If I'm lucky, it might be able to handle the torque and not twist the shit out of the wheel.

    I think it'll work until it doesn't.

Not sure if this has been covered before, but it’s a great resource, so worth the repetitiveness.

Available for free, COTREX offers the most comprehensive trail map available for the state and is built atop data from over 230 trail managers

Produced by Colorado Parks & Wildlife, this app is packed with helpful resources including offline downloads of satellite and topographical maps

It’s FREE!! So what are you waiting for?o_O

I have 3 inches of space between Timbren and frame with my rack and RTT on. However I did add the Dakar D29XL leaf to give it that extra help with camping loads. So what you're seeing seems spot on.

Because it sucks as an app? I've complained about this in other threads and provided details on many other apps out there that actually let you explore and plan much better. Sadly COTREX is the only place for some of this data (unless you know the secret hiding place they store it on their servers), so for most people, they will have to switch between several apps while planning and then draw out their route to navigate by while out on the trail.

COTREX app is just a copy of Natural Atlas, which suffers from poor cartography (MAKE EVERYTHING GREEN) and poor usability.

Your complaint is with CPW, not this COTREX app.

Lol I get accused of that all the time. We are the same age but I look way older than I am and she looks younger than she is. So basically, I look like a pedophile, but I’m not a pedophile... I think

CPW (DNR) funds and manages the app. We share a common complaint, if from different channels. I'm just bitching because that's what I do.

Those look like polyurethane ones. Have seen the tall version (like Wulf posted) ripped off and laying on the trail. My Discovery came with them, and it wasn't long before they were tearing and trying to fall off.

    Junk. Never again.

i had the cotrex app for a bit but it didnt seem fleshed out. i was mainly using it for mountain biking and trailforks and mtb project had more descriptions so ive stuck with that. i didnt look for 4wd trails or anything and have been using the fun treks books since they have descriptions as well. what does the cotrex app have that the others dont?

I have this and thought the free gps track recording feature was great until I realized that it automatically uploads any tracks you record to a cloud and makes them public, so if you record a track the forest service knows where you have been :spy:... Then I remembered reading some chatter a while back about the possibility of it being used to track and shut down unofficial moto trails (which may or may not exist because they shut down all the pre-existing singletracks), but as a map app I think it's great.

Another option is the Avenza app, you can download all the forest service, blm, etc maps for that as well just no federal tracking device installed :bikewheelie:.

    @mrtonyd

I’d like to lead with the fact that I JUST found out about this app (clearly late to the party).

I’m sure there are numerous other apps available with varying ranges of features, but for me, an average off-roader, the free price point along with a full offline download option was all I needed

Personally, I'm a fan of the OnX apps. Not free, but not bad enough to break the bank either, and very useful.

In other news, they life-flighted two more people off of St Mary's Glacier yesterday. That makes four times I've seen the helicopter up here in the last month. One fatality, two critical injuries, and a whole bunch of minor to moderate injuries. I get that more people are going outside during the pandemic, but the stupidity is flowing freely up here these days...
