    hey yall,

About to swap a 82k motor that was coated with sludge. Suppose 62k miles from the previous owner didn't have many oil changes as it seems to have stretched/skipped a tooth. Read that the 05/06 had issues with weaker chains. Anywho. I plan on doing it in a week with some help and was wondering what all tools I should have set out and prepped for when the moment arrives. Haven't had a bit of luck to find what all I will need20200803_194838.jpg

So that truck has 82k and you’re replacing the motor?

Yessir. Its alright got signs of a leak between 4 and 6. Sludge that is going to be a nightmare to get rid of. Rather not bother with chancing the oil pump clogging after buttoning up. On top of replacing the timing chains, gaskets, plane the heads, etc. Decided it would be less of a headache to get a used motor (already reworked from the heads up.) Than to tear into the old motor.
