Lake Merwin Question

Question for boaters. Do you prefer to launch from Speelyai or Cresap?

Where are good spots to tie up and let the kids run around for a while? good swimming spots, any other tips? Thank you.

 

Cresap usually fills up fast. If you end up launching from there I’d recommend heading east on the lake until you get to the bridge. There are also some shallower areas and areas to hang out on shore if you keep going beyond the bridge.

 

Thanks. We ended up launching from Speelyai and had a fun lake day. Stayed at a “resort” in Cougar which was basically a glorified trailer park. But it did the trick & my kids were happy. I want to go back and hit Yale & Swift and also do some fishing.

 

and by the way we got to Speelyai at 12:30 and got one of the last trailer parking spots. It was Friday of a holiday weekend but I’ve heard that’s the norm around there.
