Passenger map light malfunction

Was getting ready to change all the interior lights to LEDs when i noticed that the passenger map light wasnt working. Drivers side works in both switch positions and by manually pressing it. I thought maybe it was the bulb even though it looked fine so i put the LED bulb in and nothing but when i was putting the lens cover back on it clicked into place and lit up. I tested it again and can get it to light up by pressing it. So the bulb and led are good i can get it to turn on manually but not in either switch position. Any ideas on what is going on?
