Tight. Keep the scrub radius down. There isn't a good way to avoid the cab mount.

226EA268-E3FC-4175-A212-D79D8F25FB84.jpg After reading thru this thread I ordered some 37x12.50 maxxis razr’s yesterday. Don’t shame me, but I’m getting bored with the 35s, plus the ole lady wants 35s on her 4Runner(mall crawler), so what better time to give her mine and go bigger. Plan to get my truck into the shop between some builds this week to do some initial tubbing of the firewall side of my fenders (and finish my rear bumper). My STT pros don’t rub at all at full lock/bump so I’m feeling good about having my work cut out for me.. for the most part. My mid travel setup being locked front and rear has done me good thus far and will be going sas in about a year. Will post some updated pics for y’all when I get the tires on and articulated. Thanks to this TW thread for encouraging me to drop $1500 on new shoes when my tires now have over 1/2 tread still left on them :bananadead:

315 STT pros measure in at like 33.5 lol. My bald ass MTRs were like 1/2" taller than my brand new STTs. You're jumping up like 4" :D:sawzall:

Sick build, I have been eyeing that Spidertrax axle and a similar link setup. Do you think you sacrificed anything with the lower link on the frame vs centered on a crossmember? I haven't started playing with the link calculator yet.

Not really anywhere good to put them on a Tacoma, would require a completely custom crossmember set up...... long driveshaft fucks everything up

I am fine with building another crossmember, a 4link one would be cake compared to the one I built for the Atlas. But even on my 4Runner, 40" links put the mounts right in the middle of the driveshaft. Assburns style notched one might work, but would have to start cutting shit to figure that out.

Correct, there really wasn't a good place to drop the upper links unless you build a cross member. The plan was to always have the links mount to the frame and not do a cross member. Tried my best to keep it high and tight above the frame. Knowing that I built the rest of the geometry around that. The lower link from mounts hang a little lower than I would have preferred but I didn't have any more room to move them upward unless I moved the upper link mounts. once you start measuring and planning, it all comes down to what compromises you are willing to make in packaging/geometry and amount of work.

But am I worried about how far they stick off the frame? Hell no. It's all gusseted backward to the frame using 1/4". You can't see it in that picture of it. Also boxed that part of the frame in using 1/4". I hucked the truck through some whoops last weekend now that the bump stops are in... if it was gonna fail, that would have been it.

Just start looking at where you have clearance on the truck and build the 4 link around it until you have the geometry you're looking for. You can reverse the triangulation any way you want to get it to fit your needs.

I ran my links forward as far as I could to get them to line up with the u joint at the carrier bearing to keep the pinion angles happy. upper links are 50"-ish and the lower links are 47.5-ish.
