Would you take a road trip with a “chirpy” throw out bearing?

TRD intake, skid plate, cat back exhaust and short throw shifter. Bilstein 5100 leveling front and 5100 shocks rear. 32” Falken WP AT4W tires on Gen 3 wheels.
Subject is a ‘10 OR, six speed/4.0 with 120k miles. Trip is 1400 miles round trip mostly interstate. T.O. has been squealing for about six months. Noisy at idle in neutral, goes away when pedal is depressed. Your thoughts please.

Six months? Oh ya, go for it. Nothing's happened yet? From other posts here, guys just learn to live with it.

Bought my xrunner with 93k miles with squeaking throw out bearing. Never touched it and drove another 150k or so.

Most people, myself included, just live with the chirping. A throwout bearing failure on a Tacoma is very rare, in fact in spite of all the complaints about it on here and how common it is I don't think I've heard of one actually failing. Its the noise that drives some people nuts

mine is bad and it's new. i put it in a few months ago when replacing everything else, and it's a OE TOB, the right part, just a dud apparently.

i can't get it back in the shop as soon as i wanted so I'm stuck with this noisy thing. the sound continually changes and also goes from super loud to silent and it's not just about warning up, haven't figured it out. but it will be replaced again hopefully within the month. the changing sounds does make me uneasy and i avoid engaging it as much as possible.

my sound is not chirping but between grinding and bead in a bowl.

Mine has been squeaking for 30,000 miles or so. I’ll replace when I do the clutch but have learned to live with it. May do the clutch master or urd fix when I do.

From what I've heard the Clutch Master fix is the way to go, the URD one doesn't always do it.

It will potentially, over time, slowly wear down the pressure plate fingers and the bearing itself, thus making the chirping worse. However, it will not cause catastrophic failure and will continue to function (aside from the unpleasant noise) for the foreseeable future with likely no additional cost to repair.

    You're fine.

    Jeff
