hi guys setting up my my 12 tacoma it has a pro comp 6 inch on it with 35/12.5/20’s on it. I want to go a little smaller and more practical for my needs. Would love to see some pictures of various tire sizes on 6 inch lift with gearing info. Thanks !

Welcome to TW. Just going with smaller size tires may not look right with a 6" lift. Unfortunately, if your lift is a drop bracket lift, replacing it with a smaller lift will be expensive and not easily done. You should be able to search the forum for the info.

What issues do you have with your current setup?

To tall and wide. I don’t like the way it drives with the -12 offset. 20’s Sean to scoop up sticks and rip valve stems off lol. Factory gearing is horrible with 35’s. I’m trying to make it feel like my first gen lol

Welcome to TW and nice truck.
It’d be a pain to remove the that lift and goto coil/spring lift. However depending on your brand of lift you might be able to get a 4in spacer for the front struts.

Also I’d look into trading for some rim with not so aggressive backspacing and offset. But the 35s look phenomenal.

Gearing is always a trade off with higher rpms on the hwy but the drivability is 100x better. For example my truck is fully armored with a 34in equivalent tire auto with 4.56 and I love it, 4.88 would be a little to aggressive for me.

You really don't have too many options with the current setup besides regearing and go with a less aggressive AT tire. Removing the drop bracket lift is difficult because of locating another donor truck for the missing crossmember. You likely could have an off road shop or body shop fabricate one if this is the route you want to take.

The costs may be high upfront to remove the lift but you will save $$ and benefit with going smaller(tires, lift, optional regear, more ground clearance).
