Whining noise at 55mph

Hey y’all. A buddy of mine has a 14 Tacoma just like mine. He been complains about a whine/hum on the highway around 55mph. I drove the truck with the radio and a/c off.Can’t tell if it’s coming from the rear for sure but it’s a faint hum. Stops when you take your foot off gas. Is this rear end problems?

 

Turn the radio up louder. Or as the harleytechs say at the dealership "they all do that" jk My 07 has had a small whine since I bought it in 2007. Never got louder so at 117K i don't even hear it any longer.

 

Don't bring the wife....



My '12 Sport had a whine at 45 to 50 mph, off throttle, slowing it would whine, normal according to Toyota.
