The Pro suspension ( shocks and coilovers) are different than the OR so that is deeper than appearance

granted, the shocks and coilovers are different. But that’s it. No other performance changes. (And dont say TRD CAI and exhaust count, they don’t). The fox shocks and coilovers are better than the Bilsteins on the OR models, but they are not adjustable. No clickers. They look pretty and offer 1” of lift, maybe valved a little better, but that’s kind of it.

You can take an OR then buy and install everything the Pro has in your driveway, Toyota has made those parts accessible and bolt on with no modification.

You can build your own Pro at home or turn a Pro into an OR they are the same truck with different accessories that fit either.

You just can't call it a PRO because of the VIN designation, you can't change that so it all boils down to a few digits.

Partially true. There are some things you can only get aftermarket or if you know where to look. Toyota requires a TRD Pro VIN for some OEM parts. A lot of dealerships can't sell them to you and some others manage to get a few extras and do sell them.

Weird... My TRD Pro came from the factory with Fox shocks and your mom in it.

As for the appearance of my package.... You'll have to ask her

A few members have actually priced out all pro upgrades and IIRC the total cost comes out to be more than $10000 and that’s upgraded from a loaded TRD OR. There are also members that have ultimately paid more for their “PRO conversions” making it look like one. It seems that a lot of people w/ different trims have issues that us pro owners overpaid by “$20000“o_O a new pro is only priced a few thousand over a new loaded OR. Not sure where the $20000 math comes from:confused: but sure, we are all biased based on what we purchased:cool:

Unlike the Ford Raptor, one can certainly retrofit an OR with PRO parts and make it run/function like a PRO. If you plan to keep the truck for a very long time and can do the mods yourself, you will probably save some money vs buying a PRO.

The resale price will be lower than a PRO, however, because some buyers do not want vehicles with 3rd party mods (personally I would not touch those vehicles even if they were significantly discounted) and there is no incentive for the buyer to pay a PRO price for a retrofitted OR.

Ummm. You’ll have a truck with no wheels, no seats, no shocks, no all weather floor mats, no silly badges, no grill, no blacked out hood scoop, no led headlights, no sequential turn signals, no taillights, no rigid fog lights, no color matched rear bumper, no skid plate, no larger anti sway bar, no cat back exhaust, no power drivers seat, no pro shift knob, no standard heated seats, no standard moonroof, no standard auto dimming rear view mirror, no standard premium audio and navigation, no BSM, no rear cross traffic alert, no warranty on any of these parts, and no resell value on these parts or truck as well. Am I missing anything?:D

Depends on how you look at it, in terms of capability you can build a taco that is much more capable than the Pro. But many people including me like stuff that comes from the factory. So to me it not a TRD pro is it just looks like it. Just my thoughts.
