How is it. Super stoked. Finally Committed to drill holes in my dash to mount it properly. I’ve had so many problems with those adhesive mounts tired of them.

 

That’s a great idea! Where did you got the T channel and other materials at?

 

There's some good options. I just installed the 3TPAM by Expedition Essentials. Very impressed with the quality.

 

Anyone ever seen or used any type of mount that goes on the sun visor? Takes naps in my truck on my lunch break sometime and think it'd be sick to flop that down and have a tablet to look up at

Have one of these on my 18 Wrangler and its rock solid! Luckily they also make one for the tacoma!!

 

x2 for Mob Armor. I've got the Mob Mount Magnetic stuck to my dash and it's super solid (for smartphones at least). I see these mounts widely used in Baja racing and in the prerunner crowd so that alone tells me it's a good product.

 

I like it, works well with a couple of phones or my garmin inreach up there.

 

Best option for all the goodies which can be installed, charging, and sturdy. Plus 100 for not blocking the A/C vent. Its to freaking hot here in Florida for any of that.

Didn't know the DMM existed! Going to order one for sure.
Any recommendations for a slim profile ball mount phone holder? I like the 67 design, but they're out of stock so I'm looking around.

 

just installed 67 deigns mount. Nice product no complaints here.

 

Check out Tackform - definitely not going to slip, easy to insert and take out. I'm using it on the DMM for my phone.

I have several mounts fabbed up between 2 moto's and the Tacoma, all based off Ram mounts.
The Taco gets a Ram X mount on their suction cup base on the windshield, though I also just mounted a Ram ball directly to the dash using Goop adhesive, I typically have my gps or tablet on that one as they ate too heavy for the suction cup.
The suction cup will fall off occasionally, but never from driving, just from extreme heat or cold while parked.
The most secure mount I made I use on the motos, I have the phone in an Otterbox and I remove the belt clip from the holster and glue or bolt [Ive done it both ways, either is fine] a Ram ball on the back and the phone clicks in face in or out, very secure. Then use the Ram mounts of your choice.

Haven’t installed it yet, but I wanted a minimal setup, so I plan on mounting this directly to the 1” ball that comes with the DSM.

well, l like hondos unholy dash mount with a ram squeeze. do it. it don't come loose.

 

Used my existing GoPro mount/Ram Mount together.

what component did you use to go from GoPro to Ram 1” Ball ?

 

I have the same mount and same location, covers the vent slightly, but easy to deal with. Also keeps the phone down out of line of sight. I would supply a picture with my phone there, but I need my phone to take the picture!
