I'm North of that line and my truck is not only not a rusty shitbox, but it's still got the original frame!

Any good places to ride light trails and camp in Eastern Iowa? I'm waiting to try any of the parks until I wear out and replace my 265/65/17s and size up to the 265/70/17s. Big camping guy but all I see are drive up state parks.

Trans Wisconsin trail from Lansing to potosi (or vise versa). There’s a couple places @Thatbassguy camped over there along the river.

There’s not really any dispersed camping unless you’ve got private land or head north or south.

@Shellshock is correct. I've camped at Wyalusing, and it's a great facility. But, it's a drive up type of park. There are some walk-in sites at New Glarus Woods state park in Wisconsin, but you won't be very secluded.

There are portions of the Chequamegon Nicolet National forest that allow primitive/dispersed camping, but that's a few hours from Iowa. If you're up for driving a little further, the Trans Wisconsin trail runs through the Medford district of the national forest. This area has a lot of cool backroads to explore and small lakes to fish.

One of the other entertaining sections of the T.W.A.T runs from Sparta to a little north of the Black River Falls area, which could be a good section to hit on the way to the Medford district as well.
