Talk to Mike directly at Paden. He uses a master install kit -- new seals, etc. they don't pay 1400 that's what YOU pay as a consumer not as a dealer. Trust me I asked him how he gets that price and he said "we do just fine at that price" and mentioned he owns the whole building, rents half of it out to the dudes next door, it's just him and one other guy doing the work, etc. and that keeps his prices low. You'd be surprised if you just chat with him. Super nice guy.

Awesome. Now I just gotta figure out what to do if it takes more than a day.

Yeah, I think I'm in too... Now just need to decide on 4.88's or 5.29's. Anyone with a 3G running 34's?

If you have an AT go 5.29s no matter what. 4.88s are ok for 33s and stock weight but 5.29s are even better for that use case. Let alone any bigger tires or added weight

Good deal... I was leaning towards 5.29’s w/ an AT but wanted to see what others have experienced. Thx

You won’t regret the 5.29s. I feel like 4.88s should have come stock.

Did anyone install a locker besides the arb? Curious if they have any experience with the harrop. Any updates on the installs? 2nd gen on 33s, thinking 4.56s.

I'm in the market for some gears and was just quoted $1785 from Paden for 4.88 w/ no lockers. Just fyi! Prices seem to have changed since reported previously in this post.

I think I was quoted around $1985 for 5.29s w/ rear e-locker but then it turned out he had none in stock and said it looked like his supplier wouldn't get more until September or so. This was end of July timeframe.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Hey guys, another shop you can choose is a bit out of Portland, but Mule Outfitters I think in Taulatin does them too. I don't have their tags on here anymore though...

They do regears but are far more expensive than the options discussed earlier

Just had my '04 V6 regeared by Paden Drivetrain yesterday for $1800. One day job, 8am-3pm. He has been very busy and said that if I had called in rather than walked in to make my appointment he would have turned me away for a few weeks. Super nice dude, incredibly knowledgeable, good looking shop.

I went from stock 4.10 to 4.56, riding on 285s(~32") tires. Drives noticeably smoother now, speedo is a lot closer to realistic (-3% deviance, according to the maths, as opposed to +10% on 285/stock gears). I'll report back in a few weeks on gas mileage.

My ABS light is on steady now though, any idea why? Scangauge isnt reading or clearing it. All components look good but the brakes are a little soft.

Edit: Corrected 4.65 to 4.56 gear ratio

I'd take it back to Mike. I've had my truck back in there a few times because of issues and he'll take care of it.

Yea I chatted with him about it on the phone. We're going to give it a few on/off cycles to try to reset itself. If it doesnt soon I'l take it back in.

Do you know if that's generally the case? Same day installation? That's my only issue with getting it done...if it takes me longer than a day for them to install it.

Seems like it. Mike and his other mechanic are old hands at it, no fuss for them knocking it out in one day. I could have dropped it off an hour earlier right at opening I guess to give them more wiggle room but they didnt seem to sweat it. Drop by the shop and chat with him, he seems to prefer that instead of a phone call.
