Truck looks good! Did you get a 2" or 3" lift out of your Billys? Did you put UCA's or do a CMC? Any rubbing at all?

Honestly didn’t measure:notsure: I’d assume around a 2.5” lift as the nose sits maybe .5” to 1” higher than the rear with the 888’s and no AAL. Went 275/70 as the difference in size was minimal between that and the 285, but there was a MUCH lower chance of needing to CMC and replace UCA.

Both of which I did not do

Oh, and no rubbing unless I flex it out. Still haven’t hit any trails yet though, just pavement

Just put some KO2’s on stock OR suspension with 4Runner Trd Pro rims. Normal street driving, going up and down driveways, and I get no rubbing. I’ll be doing some light fire roads this weekend to see how it works out. Also thought the E rated tire was going to rattle my teeth loose, but in the end, the truck just feels more planted.

I can honestly say that the truck has lost most of what little “enthusiasm” it had before in the low RPMs, but up high, feels pretty much the same.

Do you feel the need now to re-gear or is it tolerable?

Oh it’s totally tolerable. I just did a 140 mile drive today and it probably took half that distance to get it all sorted out. I probably won’t ever regear with this tire size.

Will you share this spreadsheet? I'm looking to lift (Bilstein 6112/5160) and get 275 70 17 tires but would like to run my sport wheels for now. Any one have that setup or know if this would be an issue.

I feel like just mounting the tires and then figure out how high to go and how much to
    Cut... going 285/65/17 on the 17x9 -30

Sorry for digging up an older post but I'm very interested in your opinion on these now that some time has passed. Have you tracked your MPG's? Do you have any close-up pictures of the tread?

    Thanks,

    Bobby

Thought I'd add mine to the mix. 2020 Limited with a 3/2 LowRange level kit, OME rear shocks, Method 309 Grid Titanium wheels with 4.75 backspace and 0 offset, 275/70/17 KO2s. Zero rub. Here are some pics, hope they help someone...

Looks like I will be good to go to get 275/70/17 for my stock wheels with 2.25" lift on my Tacoma.

Most likely. However, the wheel is the key. My stock Limited wheels have a +30 offset which leaves about 1/2" clearance between the stock tire and the UCA. There's no way I could have put a wider tire on that wheel. Just choose your wheel carefully...

    2nd day of ownership

    275 70 17 no lift...front mudfaps rub on inclines.

They will be trimmed or removed in the coming days.

Thanks to this thread I was able to run this tire size.

take a look on the front part of the inner fender. I’m running the same rim and size, and this is one of the random places I would barely rub when on trails. Perks of having the truck dirty when hearing a rub!
