Another question.... anyone have the part number for the surround? As in, you take apart your old grille assembly, remove the shitty old chrome piece and grille, and put the new grille in... what is the part that you are actually putting the pro grille in? It is painted the same color as your truck

The “surround” (grille not included) is what you’re referring to and it comes paint matched.

just installed an OEM grill, garnish, lock nuts, & longer wire harness on my 2019 off road today. paid a bit more than I would have liked, but i'd rather have the peace of mind to know that everything fits & functions as it should...and it does. no error messages or fitment issues. if you're interested in going this route and have questions, i'm happy to try & help. cheers!

Does doing this mod require the tss to be recalibrated?

I didn't have to recalibrate anything using OEM parts. It was basically just plug & play. From what I've gathered, you're more likely to run into calibration issues if you use aftermarket grills and/or garnishes. However, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who've used those aftermarket products without any issue. Up to you!

Where did you get the longer wire harness? Do you have the P/N?

I just installed a replica TRD Pro grill, with aftermarket garnish on my 2020 SR5. The grill I purchased was only $99 from truckaccessoriesguy. After installation, I got the sensor needs to be cleaned error message from my TSS radar cruise control. The grill didn't come with a screw for the top hole in the TSS sensor. To help those who purchased replica Pro grills without that screw as well, I used a 1" #10 screw with 4 #10 washers to eliminate the error message. Drove it on a 125 mile road trip error free.

I had to mix and match from a couple of vendors for mine. I used a Running 4 Tacos Pro Grille with a Taco Garage TSS Garnish. Installed about 1 week ago and have driven over 100 miles (working from home, so rarely out and about anymore), and have no error codes. Radar cruise control works great.

Knock off TRD Pro grill swap
I am one of the unfortunate people to get an error with a knock off grill and garnish. Are you saying throwing a screw into that hole fixed the error message? I can't find a fix for mine. Normally I wouldn't care but not being able to use cruise control is super annoying on long rides

If so... could you post a picture. I'd love to see what people have done to fix that

It’s a known issue with some of the knock offs. Basically you have 4 screws that hold the TSS sensor in place; top, bottom and the 2 sides. If you place washers in the top hole between the grill and sensor, it changes the angle of the sensor and should get rid of the error. For me, my grill didn’t come with screws for the top and bottom, after trial and error I found that the #10 screw was the right size for the top screw hole. I then added 3 washers to the top and still got the error. After adding a 4th washer, it seems to have angled the TSS sensor correctly and the error has gone away.

it is my understanding after reading 100's of posts that you need the garnish to protect the very expensive to replace TSS radar unit from rain, snow, bugs etc. It will work without it but it's exposed.

You know I think I read that too scrolling through all the pages and different threads. I just didnt think about it emailing the guy back and forth. Yeah I dont think I want to run it without the garnish, they dealership swaps them out all the time and they dont put the garnish on.

    Thanks for the reminder.

the pro grille that i got from tacovinyl on etsy works fine with the TSS. i have driven around 1200 miles without issues so far. the quality of the grille itself is pretty average but at least it works.

    Are you running a garnish?
