That’s my thought and why I even considered not worrying. Maybe get them to give a discount since I factually know they’re sized wrong?

Yep. When sizing inset replacement window's like those you want them 1/2" smaller then the old aluminum frame they set in. It is what it is. Finished it won't look bad. For what they charged for the job I wouldn't expect much more then that.

It doesn’t look “bad” finished, it just doesn’t look exactly right, and I just know there is a massive gap there lol

Regardless of cost, the installer has an obligation to do it right. The windows are clearly not centered in the openings. It just plain looks bad. I wouldn't accept it. They'd pull and replace every misfitting window or not get paid.

Im guessing you have an odd sized opening. Pre-made windows come in "standard" sizes. They likely got the next size down and stuffed it in regardless of appearance. I'd have some one look over your contract regarding performance on their part.

I have the project manager coming out next week I will discuss it all with.

I know when my 3 windows that were already determined wrong come in I’ll make sure the same crew doesn’t come do the work.

Are they supposed to open horizontal vs vertical?

Ok home improvement experts. This one isn’t window worlds fault, they put the window back exactly where the old one was. This is in my garage. What are y’all doing above this window?

New storm door. Back door got put off until Monday due to rain.

Then all that’s left is a whole new kitchen. New bathrooms. New showers. 7 more windows. New back patio. Paint the whole house, all new wall outlets, New this new that and I’ll be broke, but I don’t have a house payment either so it’ll be okay.

This whole conversation is why you never buy a house that was flipped. My niece bought one and that pig is just one coat of lipstick over the other. She thought is looked cute :angrygirl:. Fortunately she married a contractor and he's in the process of scraping off the lipstick and fixing the bones of the house the way it should have been done in the first place.

Well this wasn’t a flip house, it’s a remodel. I bought it 3.5 years ago to live in and remodel as I can to eventually sell it for profit.

nothing we have done is “flipped bad quality”. Yeah, the windows are not perfect, and I’m going to discuss that with the project manager, but leaving them as is does not hurt anything. It is a vast improvement over the old aluminum storm windows.

so don’t go judging all “flip” houses because some people care to make things right as they do it. Perfect? Not always, but who always is capable of making things perfect on a house? Who has ever bought a house and not changed or had to work on something either by preference or by requirement? At least these windows will keep the buyer from having to replace them for at least 10-20years.

Yeah huge difference between some investor buying a dump and turning it around for profit in 45 days vs us who buy what we can afford and work on them to make them ours

Does anyone have a Sarlo WX24SP lawnmower? I’m needing parts and can’t find them anywhere online. I’m needing a set of crawlers and the throttle cable. I thought I heard Sarlo went out of business. Looking up part numbers on Amazon and the Internet results in no matches.

Found this in like 30 seconds on the internet:

    https://sarlo-mower.myshopify.com/pages/warranty-parts

Looks like you could get parts from them if you call.

Yeah, I did too. Hoping for a site I could order the parts from without having to call.
