those are the ones I was thinking of. Just if the OP is worried about the sides splaying out before loading up the bed might as well think about the potential of that bold needing a shim to keep it from wearing out.
    Ounce of prevention and all...

I had thought about doing the rubber shim thing as a preventative measure.

I'm gonna need to review your numbers on that mount... What load conditions were considered? What factor of safety did you use? Did you take into account material degradation? Did you factor in crystalline structure loss due to the heat of laser cutting?

Bottom line upfront please. :D I kid. I have'm and me likey. Thanks to your post I'm picking up the phone to talk to an old engineer buddy mine. I can almost hear him preaching the exact same tech speak like you did above. He helped me more than a few times in college physics many moons ago. Good stuff man.

I thought about putting a TL;DR at the top, but I suffered through typing that up for an hour, so I wanted y'all to suffer through reading it!

    Awesome!

Finally decided to get mine. Total Chaos. Install is very easy. And satisfying! No swearing. Nor sore back. No dirty clothes. No bloody knuckles.

In the last couple of years, I’ve often reached for or attempted to utilize the center hole of the TC stiffeners to place the hook of a tie-down, but the hole is a bit too small. Until now, I haven’t even thought about just drilling it to increase the diameter.
Perhaps not a good idea. Or, no problem, it’ll be strong enough as it’s just a bed stiffener. Go for it and see what it does.
How much of an increase in diameter before weakening or failure occurs?
There’s only a canopy on the rails now.

There really isn't any meat there to drill. That said, the stiffeners are not doing much above that second bolt hole anyway. So, while you would not be doing any thing negative for the bed sides, a larger hole is going to give you a weak tiedown point.

I think they are too. Super well built, easy install. They have the same design as the total chaos bed stiffeners but only cost a hair over 100$ through wheelers off-road

This is the first I've seen of the All Pro's, pretty slick! If I didn't already have Total Chaos I think that's the route I'd go.

Exactly! To me they were pretty identical and actually were beefier than the TC. And for me I went to wheelersoffroad and if you subscribe they give you 10% off. Think the total was 105 versus TC at 160+
