I agree, the high polished stainless tip is MUCH MORE durable, however any type of protective coating you apply to the black chrome tip whether it be paste wax, ceramic coating etc is going to help protect the finish.
Now it's not going to be a 'one time application' but more an every time you wash your truck thing. Effort=Results

My god, dealers are stupid. It will fit any 3rd gen. They're essentially all the same trucks except for minor differences.

I would use some Rust-Oleum High Heat Flat Black Spray Paint for the tip or the rest of the exhaust to protect it.

Anyone know if these fit the access cab?

DCSB and ACLB exhausts are the same. Same frames. It's the DCLB that needs some specific parts.

Yep, when i was buying my borla, it required an extension for DCLB.

I love my TRD pro cat back exhaust. One of my favorite mods. Just having a heck of a time selling my stock exhaust here locally. Practically giving it away with a nice black chrome time. O well someone will bite soon I hope.

I had a hard time selling mine too. A guy with a 1st gen picked it up for 80, he only needed the muffler. If it wasnt for him, i would still probably have it.

Yeah it’s ok if it doesn’t sell I guess. Just sitting in my shed out of sight out of mind.

Sell it to someone that wants to do an axle dump and have a stocker as a spare. That's what I did. Unfortunately, the stocker was a freebie for me.

Been trying. Have it on FB and CL for dirt cheap. Someone will eventually see it and want it. Until then, it’s not that big of a deal for me to store it.

after having this exhaust for a few weeks, i do agree it looks and sounds awesome. especially coupled with the urd mk2 ypipe. since my truck doesnt have mudflaps, i catch myself wiping down the tip *pause* often. if im being honest the polished tip wouldve been way easier to maintain. the black chrome looks way the heck better though. if you like subtle at idle, and a nice smooth growl when you get on it, plus no drone? then this is for you. i kinda like that raunchy lifestyle though, so i thinking im gonna go reformat my truck with the rest of the urd set or maybe go black widow this time. ive come from fm super 44s on my past two tacos, and to me that sounds at home on the taco. if this truck was my daily then yeah i would stick with the trd, but its not. and thats the compromise i came up with lol.

I am considering getting URD MK2 ypipes, sometime in the future. So you said there is no drone? Because I would regret getting them if it drones on the highway. I have the borla and it sounds great, i wouldnt mind a bit more noise, and power as long as there is no drone. I believe TRD exhaust is rebranded borla so it should sound the same. TIA.

the trd pro exhaust is made by bosal. i saw the stamp somewhere on the muffler. and the urd ypipe is great. it gives the trd exhaust a different sound because of the ypipes unrestricted freeflow design. it kills the rear two cats and it opens up the notoriously crushed part of the oem ypipe right under the driver side crossmember. youre gonna notice a more eagerness to go in all gears. as for drone i thought there was gonna be some? especially when coupled with the ypipe, but even with the ypipe i notice none. i guess one of the directives of making of that exhaust was no drone cause they absolutely killed it in that catergory. they even pride themself on that in their exhaust description lol. i guess thats why when you compare it to a 3rd party aftermarket exhaust it does sound pretty humble on the low end. thats where most drone comes from when cruising.

Hear your engine roar with style. The TRD exhaust gives your engine greater power while bellowing out a deep, throaty tone.

    • Made from premium stainless steel and features a cat-back exhaust design with TRD logo etched on polished tips
    • Engineered for a less restrictive path, to help reduce backpressure for added low- to midrange torque, along with improved horsepower
    • Produces a deep, throaty, award-winning exhaust note while meeting the legal 95-decibel noise limit, as required by law
    • Available in chrome or black chrome exhaust tip

    Fits Tacoma (2019 - 2020)

    • EMISSIONS LEGAL: Yes
    • FINISH: Black Tip
    • LOGO: TRD
    • MATERIAL: Stainless Steel
    • OUTLET: Side Exit, Chrome Black Tip
    • SPECIAL EDITION: 'TRD PRO

I just got lucky and sold my stock exhaust this morning. Had it listed for awhile though but like you I was just about to give it away for free until this guy wanted it for 100 with bolt on Toyota black chrome tip. Thought about just keeping it to but I have no desire to give up my TRD pro exhaust ever. Glad it’s finally gone.
