Why so much hate for BFG A/T?

I have not. All I was purchasing were E load tires, which I think makes the difference. At least from what I've observed on the forums, most people with balancing issues were running SL tires, or their tire shop didn't know what the yellow and red dots were for. Duratracs on the other hand...you can't balance a squishy hexagon.

SL? Passenger tires. Nope. I can’t imagine not get E rated tires for my truck

To me it's the price. I can get just as good if not a better tire for less. I ended up with new General ATx for a fraction of the price I'd pay around here. Didn't need 10-ply with what I do so I have (I believe) 6-ply. Slightly softer compound in the General but one more sipe per block so I expect decent snow performance for an AT. Better than the stiff rubber/less sipe KO2. I do not have any snow experience yet, and my not since I still have some dedicated winters to use up. My rain performance has been rock solid and some BFG users call theirs "scary" in rain. But the KO2 are excellent off roaders and last forever.

Here is the end of a set with somewhere around 40k miles on them. These were on a Frontier Pro4X driven by the most cautious, slow and methodical driver in my fleet. The least abused set of BFGs on a light truck get the same or worse life as heavily abused Wildpeak AT3Ws on HD trucks.

You may have already answered this question somewhere else, but what kind of fleet are you running/overseeing?

Do you turn off traction control and spin them to clear them out? Looks like you just rolled over some wet dirt road there? Just wondering.

It was just minor driving through mud that day. It gets by with the lack of thick lugs. Couple areas where I have to park at work requires 4x4 to get out lol

Alright champ.. Bought these tires when the truck had 61k miles. I now have 136k. My yearly average mileage is 37.5k. Rotated and balanced every 5k. I don’t live of road like Maticuno’s fleet, but I do off road some.

Geez, what the fuck happened with you? Sorry for whatever you’re going through but I was giving personal experience and positive feedback for the tires that people either love or hate. I love’em.

Have a beer or some shit.

I guess I'm a simpleton for buying a good product and having a good experience with them. What's funny is that I did research tires extensively a few years ago, and people on this very forum were basically raving about KO2's. Then I bought Kumhos which were fine. But, the next time I needed tires, I went for the KO2's due to the fact that they were still one of the highest rated AT's and they were actually less expensive than some of the other tires I was looking at.

I put about 29K on them in almost every imaginable type of terrain, and never felt let down. I traded them for bigger tires and only changed because the Toyo AT3 had just come out and the guy at my off-road shop said he expected them to be excellent tires for weekend warriors like myself.

You talk about this large marketing budget. I've never seen a commercial or ad for them that I can recall. I bought them based on reputation and user reviews.

I do agree that there are other options. The market has become extremely competitive, and there are some really great tires to choose from. But, I hear complaints about pretty much every tire I've researched. It seems that no matter how good a product is, it's not going to be good for everyone.

And, to base your opinion on these tires on some KO's you had years ago isn't really fair. They changed rubber compounds, tread pattern, etc. Aside from that, it seems that many of the people who really dislike these tires had them in E load rating. I believe they use a different rubber for those which could explain some if the discrepancy in people's experience with them.

    Just some things to consider.

This video is of 2 jeeps that are the same make, model, drive train, and lift. Both running 34"tires. The one in front is running BFG KO2's, the one following is running Nittos. The nittos were ran at street pressures.

Not sure what you're point is here?

The guy with BFG's spun for a split second at one point. I didn't see any real struggle. The second driver appeared to have taken a better line than the first guy.

If anything, it might show that the second driver had a little more finesse than the first guy.

OP here. Posted a lot of things that I really wouldn't want said to me in the last couple of days. I want to apologize for those comments. Thought about deleting the thread but it has been a good forum for discussion. Grampz out.
