Did a quick Over night trip to get away from all the BS in the world right now and god damn did I need that bad. Was the first time in the mountains for the puppy as well, but she loved it. Also may have figured out a sleeping arrangement for her that worked well for us.

Unfortunately, no truck pics for you simps from this trip.

    Hello stalkers,

2020 sure is a bitch of an unsatisfactory situation. No trails this year yet due to my medic internship getting postponed and having to get a new job which I work weekends. It’s 3am and I’m at work and could really use a trip right about now. Ya know that feeling when you’re kneeling down next to your truck airing down before hitting a trail and it’s taking forever and your knees hurt cause 10% disability rating from the VA. Yeah, I miss that feeling.

Still waiting for life to resume. Just wanted to check in and say I’m still alive. Stay safe duders.

    Matt

I just had this happen to me. One thing I learned was that once the gear oil gets into the wheel bearing, it washes out all the grease. So you’ll need to replace your wheel bearing too. It was about $400 for oem parts from mcgeorge Toyota and I took my axle (off the truck) to a shop to have them press on the new one for like $80. Then new brake shoes. That was only one side.

    :(

$400 for new seal and bearing? I wonder if my drum has oil in it yet since it’s only seeping for now.

That was just for the bearing and associated parts, like new studs and nuts and whatnot. It’s silly expensive. The seal was pretty inexpensive at only $7.

Faaaaawk. Did you find a parts list needed somewhere? Did you do both sides since one side failed or just sent it?

So I noticed I’m missing one lug nut on one of my wheels. We’ll say hypothetically, my OCD ass didn’t torque that one down. Is it possible for it to fly off while driving even if it was at least hand tight? Stud was in tact. About to check if the others were torqued or not.

Hey TacoZim, I've been looking into replacing my roof vinyl wrap and I noticed you used the Avery brand. I wanted to ask if there was any reason you chose that brand over others and how it was working with Avery vinyl material. Also it looks like it's been about 3 years now that you've had the wrap on? How long were you planning to leave it on for?
I ask because when I installed my roof vinyl (3M 2080), the warranty and life of my wrap was 1 year for my zone. I'm in Hawaii so I fall into the lowest life category because of the sun we get.

My family also has a malinois, female, named Hoku. Very active, cautious, and protective although I've never seen her really attack and we haven't trained her to do that. She gets all riled up when I cover my face like "wait, who are you now" kind of look. She'll get concerned and growl with her hair standing up. Then I uncover my face and it's like "you're back!" and gets super excited. She's funny and super affectionate. I'm wondering if other malinois are similar.

    damn
1 more thing to inspect and possibly do as preventative maintenance
and more money to spend on parts

    I've seen it done on a 3rd gen T4R
the slidey thing gets pulled out the tube/tunnel of the rear end somehow
not sure what else there is to it

    Hey dude!

So I did months of research and found 3m and Avery to be the heavy hitters in the wrap world. I had i think close to 12 different samples from both companies sent to me when it was all said and done and ended up going the Avery route because of the color and I heard its thinners than 3m's wrap which makes it easier to maneuver and manipulate. Both do have the bubble free technology which is pretty much microscopic pin holes in the wrap that releases air when installing so if you're thinking of doing it yourself, dont worry about that.

My girlfriend and I knocked it out last April I believe? So we're going on 2.5 years so far. The only issues I am beginning to see is the hood has many black spots all over from what I'm guessing are from rocks kicking up and scuffing the color off the wrap leaving a black mark in its place. The wrap life on Avery and 3m's gloss I believe is 3-5 years depending on how well you take care of it and environmental factors like you stated. I'll definitely be keeping it on into next year. We'll see how it looks around this time next year haha. If any panel is going to need replacing it'll be the hood for sure, but no other planels having that much of an issue.

Okay you can't come in this thread, say you have a dog, and not post a picture. Pretty sure its against the Geneva Convention. Anyway, my dog is protective as well with people. Around other dogs, she's kind of neutral unless shes seen the dog countless times like our parent's dogs. But we're still working on people. She was a coronavirus puppy so socializing was a little tough, but we're working on it again now. Super smart and active, but she has an off switch when at home which is awesome. Frisbee and training x2 a day and she's golden haha.

Thanks for the info! I really haven't done a ton of research just yet, but it's good to know Avery is up there. I ordered a bunch of samples from that metrorestyling website. Right now it's just for the roof and hood. Trying to see if I can get it close to my color BRM (doubtful) or just run black or a carbon print. I load up kayaks often that have been in salt water (in areas that are hard to wash down) and the wrap on my roof has been amazing at protecting from the salt and high tree branch scratches.

I can see from your pictures you guys took a lot of care and patience with the wrapping process. Which just reminds me that none of this should be taken lightly if I want the outcome to be good. Would the same panels and parts need to be removed to take the wrap off? I think I'd have more motivation to do this if my fiance was more motivated to help with things like this, haha.

Yeah, haha, you're right. I was flipping through my pictures and didn't see one I liked so I got lazy and didn't post one. That said I took a few yesterday to make up for that. I realized too that it was tough getting her to keep still.

But just for a moment I got one.

    And then that disappeared...

She needs play time everyday otherwise she's nuts at night. Right now it's all about the ball. We used to play frisbee with her, but she would do giant leaps and jumps and we think it started to affect her joints. Oh and she just loves tug-of-war. I think she can do that all day.
