What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Beefed up my homemade sliders with some extra gussets and protection.

 

I almost done with my current grad course and have a couple weeks until the next starts so hope to make some progress over the next couple weeks, we'll see.

That being said, I was able to get a coat of epoxy primer on the project, I'm using a crappy gun that I already had and after a not being happy with the surface being textured I think there are a few reasons.
1) it is just at the range of being too small of a tip for primer
2) I may need to thin the primer (TDS says to use 8:1)
3) shoot it at a higher pressure.

Thinking of bringing my front end up an 1” with the 5100s to match the J59s a bit more in the back.

How much strain will that put on those needle bearings in the front diff? Seems rather straight forward. Remove adjust reinstall.

It wasn’t today, but yesterday my lady and I wheeled one of my favorite local trails. No action shots, but the scenery was absolutely unreal.

 

Yesterday I replaced the calipers, pads and rotors. I noticed this while replacing the calipers. The silver bold is what came with the calipers, the discolored one is what came with my wheelers SS lines. I noticed the wheelers bolt has a smaller holes vs the one that came with the new calipers. Anyone know why this is? Does it have something to do with pressure, or does it matter?

Also, what’s everyone’s go to for rear drums? I’ve had terrible luck on both of my trucks of getting warped drums out of the box.

 

You guys do installation? I dont see rock sliders on your site

My driver's side door lock decided to fail in the Walmart parking lot. I had to make a very awkward passenger side entry in a truck filled with groceries. Ended up having to remove the seats and door panel to replace this stupid little spring in the door lock mechanism. I'm not a big fan of the spring I used, but it will have to do until I can make a trip to Ace Hardware.

Haha! If it was a fishing spot or a top-tier campsite, I’d take it to PM, but it’s a pretty widely known trail. Not far from you, either, and all the rougher spots can be bypassed if you don’t want to take them on.

If you ever want a wingman to check it out with, let me know. There’s a loop on the south end on FS247 that I still haven’t checked out yet. You’re totally safe going solo as well, though.

the bigger bolt with the bigger orifice will pass more brake fluid when braking. That’s the one I would use.

Haven’t heard the phrase “dude” in a while...I already emailed sales but I’m sure they are backed up. Just bought this 1st gen and got the smell of smoke in my pocket.

 

The relentless gear is sweet. I say get it.

 

I plan on the predator front and wrap around back with the tire swing out carrier. I need to talk to them Monday to get further specs because I’m not sure how many Jerry cans the swing out can carry
