Finally I was able to see what the huppla on the new Bronco is all about and I have to say I do like what Ford did with it a specially the 2 door with the 35 Inch Tires direct from the Factory. Of Course you do not want to buy a new model right of the production line but the public things different. They got so many responses to it that they crashed the Reservation Line and doing some very good financing deals I bet the Bronco will sell well and give the Wrangler and FCA a run for the money.

Ford says it saw a 'stampede of reservations' for the new Bronco SUV that crashed its website.

I do like the plain jane version

I like the look of the 2-door version too.

I'd look to buy at base and fix it up, maybe a mid-grade and fix it up for towing. Get into the higher trims from the factory that's too costly. If I was buying an SUV new I'd be interested in a 2.7l turbo Bronco. Solid truck platform that you can fix up as you please.

I'd been planning on a TRD Off-Road for the past couple years, but the cost has always held me back.
And I don't REALLY need a truck bed...
The 2dr base Bronco will be about $10k less than the Tacoma, and it'll fit in my garage better than the Taco would.

And being a Jeep XJ fan at heart, it reminds me much of a 2dr XJ.
The 2.3T is a great engine which can be tweaked to give excellent power.

Just hope the actual truck looks as good as the CGI images.
Some of the pics over on Bronco 6G Forums have the roof and flares being a faded grey color rather than the darker color pictured.

Hopefully the plastic is a dark grey / black. Can’t stand that chalky off grey color

I can't wait till my dealer gets some in stock, will ask the gm if I can borrow one for the weekend, not for offroading though.

Liking these Broncos and and Jeep gladiators challenging Toyota in this segment. I think Toyota can add a shit ton more value in the 40k+ price point, especially in terms of engine and transmission options.

Not sure which options/aspects of the engine and transmission are being lauded here.
So the 2021 TRD OR 4x4 lists for around $37k and yes, it comes with the raw, unbridled power of Toyota's 3.4 V6 mated to their legendary 6spd tranny which may be available in your choice of automatic or automatic.
But are you really going to get 33" tires, an appropriate lift, hd axles, add a front locker, get full skids and steel bumpers, and re-gear, all under factory warrantee, for less than $3-5k? (Or get all that stuff with 35" tires and a 10spd auto with a boatload of driver-assist features.)
I suppose you kinda could if you did all your own work, got deals everywhere and had nothing better to do with your time.
But which does not make for a great comparison.

I'd say the immediate value of a Tacoma over the Bronco has more to do with the taco having a truck bed, having better towing/hauling capacity and oh yeah, having a truck bed.
And of course Tacoma is king of reliability, driving its outrageous resale value.

Toyota/Tacoma has its niche pretty well carved out, and I'd guess competes with Ranger mostly.
It's Jeep that the Bronco is benchmarked to, and the gauntlet has been thrown down!

I think Ford did a good job with the Bronco design. I’d never buy one new but I can vouch for the 2.3t since I’ve put 80k miles on my company provided ranger in <2yrs. The 2.3 would be a lot more fun paired with a manual transmission

Sorry my dude, but with that sentence you just outted yourself as someone who has no idea what the fuck they are talking about.

The 3rd gen tranny is legendary for being a piece of shit and the motor is dogged here constantly. I think its okay, but to pretend its powerful or legendary is a joke.

1st and 2nd gen all day, 3rd gen is a shit box.

The bronco is going to eat everyones lunch. Not people who need a truck because like you said, the truck bed is big for most truck buyers:rofl: But if they don't fuck up their quality and have enough on the lot, Jeep is done and so is the 4runner unless they step their shit up.

Toyota has been coasting for at least 5-6 years with nothing good coming out in that time. They fucked up the supera and made a bmw no one wants, and their best seller is a fucking rav 4.

I like Toyota much more than Ford, but they still are replacing frames two tuck generations later and that tells someone all they need to know about their commitment to improvement.

So sorry my dude, but you have outed yourself as someone who has no idea of what sarcasm sounds like on the interwebz. :D

If I had a wooden nickel for every thread around here by folks complaining about turd gen shifting or weak-ass engines needing an ovaltine boost (more snarkazm), I would buy you a Bronco!
For the record, I roll a 2012 MT reg cab 4x4, so thanks, but I already drank that koolaide.

Go back and read what I initially quoted and was responding to.

That 2012 MT is pretty awesome. I'm still digging mine. Don't look forward to the day I have to replace it. I commute to work on my motorcycle to save some wear and tear on the Tacoma, and have a reservation for a 21 Bronco. I'll have the Tacoma until it rusts in two.

I am keeping my taco, but we are getting rid of the 4runner for a bronco. Wife is super pumped for it and I am too a little, but I can't find a car I'd rather have than my little taco!

I absolutely adore my truck and bought it new, expecting it to be buried along side me.
It physically pains me to even consider trading it in.
But my wife thinks the 2012/90000mi is old (she is not a vehicle person, let alone a truck gal).
She wants to fight me over every single mod- she doesn't get 'investing' in an old truck lol.
She would rather I/we start up a monthly payment on a new vehicle.
I said I'd the only thing I'd even consider would be a [Badlands with Everything].
She said the Tacoma would have to get sold.
    I said... Fuck. IDK.
And then I put my $100 reservation down.
Got till summer 2022 to decide.

How much are they giving you for the taco? I'd get a second job to make the difference.

YOU WILL NEVER find a truck you like as much without buying the same truck for twice the price in 10 years when you can't take it anymore.

I'm not kidding. Do not let your truck go, all the new ones are just nanny mobiles. Get a second job for 6 months lol

    I know, right!
A 2nd job is not a bad idea, actually. Except for my chronic laziness lol.

Ford estimator put my truck at as much as $10k, which I figure is about what their margins would dictate.
I figure if I parted out all the armor, Foxes, Deavers and possibly the cap I could get another 6-7k, but I bet I could get +20k as is.
It is not really about the money per se- it's more about what I really want and what form of sacrifice I am willing to make to get it.

The other option would be to wait- prices may come down over time/used market development.
And if/when we finish paying off the house, well then, numerous possibilities open up.
Of course by then Broncos will be old again, or only have electric motors.......

I just can't part with the Tacoma when the Bronco gets here. For one thing, I still need a truck bed at times. I've never been without a truck, so not sure how one gets by without it.

I figure the Bronco will be used on longer trips from home, and allow me to rebuild the Tacoma more for offroad use around home.
