I just replaced the heat shield on my cat and it looks like there is still a heat shield missing. The pictures online haven't helped.

Here's some pictures of my 2013 reg cab. It had the cat pipe replaced by the dealer for the recall. Are you talking about the shield on the cat or the shields on the bottom of the truck? It looks like there are 2 shields on the bottom of the truck and the cat has one that clamps on.

    Thanks to both of you.
I'm going to call them "front cat" (closer to engine) and "rear cat" (closer to muffler). I just installed new heat shields and related hardware to the front cat. The rear cat is bare, it does have a small hole at every corner so I thought there was supposed to be a heat shield there. Mine is similar to @JL8Jeff

@TreeFortRichard , you have that frame inspected?

YES...that's one of my "before" spray pictures...
They assure me it's just fine...Until one day after the coverage period ends...and then I'm sure it will be condemned...It's a 2010 w/ 180K in Rustachusetts....

I had mine inspected and it passed. Not that much rust at all except for some small brackets.
I have to get it "treated" but everything is on hold because of this virus nonsense.

BTW the coating basically falls off immediately if you touch the frame...I put 2x4's under it to lift it and they pealed off the coating...

Yeah. It's virtually gone now. I think it's good until Feb 2022 for my truck so I'll try and get it in late this fall for another check and coating..Hoping for a fail on that one ;)
