Anyone have trouble with their factory side cleats not releasing? My 2010 side rail system is very handy for tying down light loads and those side rail cleats are the ticket, but they are not releasing. Any way to rebuild or has anyone taken them apart? Maybe a different type of cleat for them.
    Thanks, Stan

Never had that problem. Are you sure you're loosening them enough and pushing in far enough to turn them?

Also slide them to an opening. Certain part often rail are closed enough to let it slide, but not come out.

I've tried loosening them, but can't get the threaded bolt to push out. I do have them off the rail, I just can't get them to go in the rail and turn and screw to tighten. Might have to use some bigger tools and a hammer and use a vice to loosen them up.
    Thanks, Stan

Fixed them, I had to line the flat side of bolt up with one ear or the other to get them to move, lubed the thread with some light oil. All work good now, I had ordered some of those slide nuts also to make a couple of racks also for the future.
