if you want practice with your camera,
I've always wanted someone to document my shenanigans while I work on the truck.
there is always some sort of jankey contraption I make to get the job done, lol.

I really need to get some of these small engines off my bench so I can get back to working on my bike.

Fix your bike so we can drive past @Canoehead's house and make him want a bike!

I think that a KLR would fit Duncan really well..

White water is on Lucasville road, if you send me the specs or order it, I can pick it up Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday next week, or before work Thursday/Friday and drop it off to you! I know you regular people working regular people hours have a hard time getting to stores with regular people hours of operation. One of the small wins of shift work :D

Ouch! I almost fell off the cliff myself, got way too rowdy at the jumping rock for an old guy and now my back is all stiff and sore. Good fun though :)

Made some good progress this weekend.
the Bedroom Reno's almost done, New furniture built, room painted etc.... Keeping my wife happy.

I did some troubleshooting on my little boat motor, she had no spark. Turns out that the contact for the points in the ignition was waaaaaay off. so much that it never opened. I did a rough redneck adjustment, and was able to get it to spark on the bench, so I can cross off the ignigion system / coil from my list of stuff to fix. I might just redneck the carb too. Let it soak in something to clean up the varnish and see how it plays out before ordering parts. I'm in no hurry, this thing is a backup to our primary motor.

on the truck I made new mudflaps for the front out of some pond liner I picked up for free last year, also finally installed some of those mud skirts that were floating around here a while ago ( in the wheel wells ). I was so stupid. I had them cut out, just never got off my lazy butt to install them.
well that's done now. looks decent too.

and I did an oil change / cleaned the MAF. I was long overdue based on time, not KM's. These days I never hit my KM's before I hit the 6 month mark. Did the drive shaft lube.

also fixed the clock spring behind the steering wheel, my Cruise control stopped working. Pretty easy install. I had it done in about 30 min ( not including the time I waited between disconnecting the battery and actually starting the job, I did not want the airbag going off, so I waited about 20 min )

    now the bad news.
found a drip of gear oil on my passenger side diff tube. :( I wiped it clean and will keep spot checking it to see how bad it really is. At least I have experience with doing the drivers side, so this should be a walk in the park. Might as well do my LBJ while i'm at it ( snapped off the grease zirk on that side about a year ago )

at least with working from home, I can lay the truck up for a few days while I pick away at stuff. My Wife is off for the summer so I have access to the 2nd car if need be.

Some new UCA's for my slow as molasses lift!

Bougght them locally from some who who sold their Taco before ever putting them on.

One day I'll have a lift....
just need that US Dollar to take a deep dive, then perhaps I can afford the actual lift part.

    Productive weekend D2!

I got my new slave cylinder in and replaced the rear shocks. Bypassed the accumulator while I was doing the slave cylinder but honestly I'm a little disappointed at the lack of difference in the feel of the pedal. Probably need to do a better job bleeding the lines and adjust the pedal height or something.

When I ordered my ome lift the Canadian dollar was about $0.10 OVER the USD. would have bought more things if I had more money at the time.

I would like to go OME, but i'm really open to suggestions.

IDK if i'm being silly, but I'd like to avoid AAL, I think I'd like a whole leaf pack. But what does those who've lifted think?

I tow an 1800lbs camper once or twice a year ( loaded up I bet its like 2200 ), I can count on one hand how many "loads of dirt" i've put in the back in the 3 years i've owned it. Honestly its just been bits of wood, and just odd ball stuff I pick up off the road like snowblower

right now I have sliders, building my own plate bumper ( hope to have a winch ). No caps or RTT's in my future.

like 90 - 95% of my driving is the pavement.

Leaf springs are the killer these days because they are so heavy and expensive to ship, magnified by the terrible exchange rate.
I was in the situation where my original leaf springs were shot so an AAL would have been a band-aid. At the time with the excellent Canadian dollar it was only marginally more expensive to get OME over OEM replacements locally.

@rcchris , I just went digging for some info in this thread about lifts, and found yours.
your combo still doing good? the AAL holding up well?

Honestly, I LOVED my OME Dakars, it was firm, yet wasn't obnoxious off roading, I did put a D29XL in once I bought a cap. I hauled 2 bed loads of top soil in a day, it squatted and survived. This was all on a full OME lift with 886s that Duncan helped me TREMENDOUSLY with. The new owner, Justin, had to replace the rear shocks shortly after he bought the truck and he JUST replaced the fronts. If/when I ever get my hands on another truck, it too will have Dakars, probably the HD leaf pack, but I think I want to try the Bilstein 5160/6112 setup, just for something different.

I just got the TSB leafs installed at Christmas. so they are about as new as they are going to get.

I did find a post from @maxpower29 where he had issues with some ProComp AAL's the thread can be found here

I'm actually leaning towards an AAL.... They seem cheap enough that if they worked for a year or so with my light duty needs, then perhaps if they crap the bed I would be able to buy a full leaf pack. ( or at least have a better excuse to tell my wife )
