    OP, I am like you and I don't do serious off roading. But I do go to the beach and muddy fields/roads. I have a 2nd gen OR, and yet have used 4L or my lockers in real life situations, just testing them out. I have gone through mud that was about 6" deep, really soft sand, and snow and never had an issue. Like ppl said, tires, tires, tires. I have KO2s and they are awesome, but even my old worn out muds did well
