OK, I've been having issues with the damn BSM system (which includes the cross traffic monitor). 2016 Sport 4x4.

Today the wife turned on the BSM button and the damn thing worked flawlessly for about 3 "turn offs" around town.

Next time, it came on and sounded an extended beeeep. It seemed to work again and I hit a bump on the way home....OFF it goes..."check BSM system".....

    BACKGROUND:
The damn thing never worked from the factory.....they fiddled with it for 3 months and I told them to fix it when they have other trucks with same issue.....(and Toyota will tell them the issue)
Finally 1 yr. after I bought it, they called me and said it's like the left wiring harness.....they replaced it and it was fixed till this spring. They said it's the sensor for $800.00 and I said no.

Seems like a loose connection in the left wiring harness. Well at least I know the $800 sensor works..!!!

Next step is to remove the harness where the dealer did to put it in. Maybe they were a little sloppy with the tape, etc...

    Wish me luck... Thanx..John
