Mark I looked up the product you have chosen -and that is some good looking stuff. One thought -I don't know if you have chosen your coating yet, but one of Aeratis Traditions paint stain choices is the same stuff I just used on my new deck framing. I used the Cabot Solid color 100% acrylic stain. I was impressed with the way the stuff worked . I "one-coated" as Cabot said I could. I noticed the Aeratis Traditions people said to use 2 applications. Understand I only used this on my framing and stair stringers. My decking is Fiberon Symetry (Warm Sienna). This decking has a 50 year warranty.
    That flooring looks good .

No, that's the original put in 16 years ago - still looks solid and you are right that it kept the original from bowing or squeaking.

I actually have some cans of Cabot stain in the basement - bought it for the back porch last year and didn't get to it. The listing on Aeratis' page is in order of performance with Cabot at the bottom. Since I no longer have the receipts for the Cabot stain I'm going to try the Sherwin Williams. We typically use that paint for our interior painting and have a good working relationship with the guy who runs the local store. Thanks for pointing that out to me, though. I'd missed it. If I still had the receipts I'd probably go with it.

I would bet they are all good. As with any paint/stain job, The cleaner the surface is better. I am beginning to figure out in my senior years WHY I hate painting/staining so much. It is all the prep one should do do do the job right, and that is the only way to do a job. TRouble is retirement means I DO have the time but I would rather do something else. Also I am a tightwad and am afraid that someone else won't "do it to my standards".
Were you ever stationed at Fort "lost-in-the-woods" in Mo?

    Good morning, all!!

No, I was there for a few weeks for a course once but that's it. I spent a total of 4.5 years at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK, though. :D Of course, the Army made it up to me by sending me to Language School in Monterey, CA and later another 3 years tour at Fort Ord with the 7th Infantry Division (Light) in Monterey.

Monterey! ahh you were probably around the guys/gals that were VERY-VERY important on our planes -the linguists on the RC135's.
Fotr leonard wood seems to emit different likes/dislikes amongst Ex-Army folks, thats why I asked . I was on the Fort a few times with my employer after my discharge. I also got to Whiteman a few times. Love t see the B2's there. We see them overhead once in awhile here in central Mo

My uncle, career navy & WW II mustang, taught in Monterey when I was a kid. I spent quite a few summers and loved them all. It's sad for an old guy to see how built up it has become. But that's progress, or it it?

I realized after reading 95SLE's sig that I have worn long pants once since I retired 2/28/20.
This was back on 3/14, when I went to a funeral. I think that was the last time I wore shoes too.

Believe it -that the wild colored toilets and sinks of the 50-60's have become the most desired and reused bath fixtures. So check out it's value before you use it as your redneck grill/cooler

I had a few of those AF linguists in my section. I trained as a Mid East/North Africa Foreign Area Officer (attaché, pol-mil advisor, security assistance officer, etc) with a year of Arabic in Monterey and then 1.5 years with the State Department's advanced Arabic center in Tunisia for language and cultural immersion. I later commanded a tactical intelligence battalion that had a mix of Arabic, Russian and Serbo-Croat linguists, along with ground surveillance radar, counter-intel, interrogators and ground based collectors and jammers.

I am a shorts guy rather than long pants but I like my shoes and do not care for sandals. Around the house I like to wear socks.

Good Morning folks :hattip:. Agree with the gloomy morning Dave. Took the dog out for his 6 AM walk and if looked like 4 AM. Busy day today. Dentist appointment at 10 then a vet appointment for the dog at 4. The dentist was closed for sometime and now he is trying to get caught up with all his patients. I was due for a cleaning in June but was canceled and now my appointment isn't until November. They have quite a backlog.
    Have a good day all.
