I recently made a post about the block and spacer lift and many people told me to steer clear. I’m not able to spend a ton of money on these types of things so i would love some suggestions. I dont do too much off-roading just some trails, nothing too complicated. What do you guys recommend. Pictures if possible. Thank you!

3rd gen suspension. They're cheap and give you a small lift it's that's what your looking for. I originally got a 1in lift in the front and 0.5 in the back after replacing my 2+1 leaf for the newer 3+1 leaf. I eventually added small top spacer on the front and a flat shim on the back. Overall 1.5in lift in the front and 1in in the back. Love the ride quality and leveled look.

Have you looked into your need for a cab mount chop (CMC) and possibly wheel spacers to make those tires fit properly? Unfortunately there is more to lift than just getting the truck up higher vertically. I know it's hard to wait, but it might be best to wait until you can do tires, wheels, and lift all at one time. That way you know everything fits together properly. Otherwise if you do one thing, you might find you MUST do another to make it work. Also, I'm not 100% against spacer lifts, but if you want a full 3 inches of lift I would definitely go with a new coilover (probably Bilstein 5100). And finally, don't skimp out and forget about the spare tire. Get a full sized or close to it spare, even if it's not brand new. You may or may not need to massage the area to fit the tire in stock location as well!

I know this wasn't super helpful, but just more food for thought.

If don’t the tires already don’t get them especially if your budget restricted. Now we’re talking 3” lift min. Uca’s and some cutting.

I have everything ready to fit the tires. Just curious about lift suggestions.

Another option if you are mainly going for looks. just start with the wheels you want! Makes a huge difference in looks. The different backspacing over stock makes the stance more aggressive since it's wider. Made my tires stick out just a smidge past fenders instead of being 100% inside of them.

What do you have? High quality wheel spacers? Uca’s? Etc.

I have a buddy who’s worked specifically on Tacoma’s, 4Runners, And Tundras for years. He has done multiple trim works and told me has everything thats needed and knows what parts to order to make things fit.

It may be hard to fit 285s but if budget is what your looking into. Without spending too much I just ordered bilstein 5100s. You can go to the I believe 3rd notch on those which should lift you about 1.75 inches in the front then get either AALs or spend a little more and get 3 leaf progressive AALs. I got them at wheelers for 500 bucks out the door with their new customer code. As you order parts you could go 3 inches later with UCAs and a CMC when you can afford it but at least you can get started.

Here's mine. 2" in front, 1.5" in rear (almost empty tank in the picture)

    Worn out 245/75r16 street tires.

Rides real good. That picture is the further it goes offroad
