Would you run this rack and pinion?

Would you run this rack and pinion? It’s a new Toyota part, but UPS grenaded the box. The rack and pinion has some scuffs but looks usable? I just don’t know if anything internal could be damaged from rough handling and it’s not a cheap part. The pics are how it arrived, and the dealership said that they’re officially not shipping any more rack and pinions because UPS keeps trashing them. So either I return it and buy elsewhere or I run it.

Btw, is JTEKT the OEM manufacturer for Toyota on these?

I just got one of these too. Fortunately it wasn't battered by ace Ventura like yours was..
I was expecting another koyo.. are these what Toyota calls OEM now?? Hopefully these are better than the koyos. Anyone have additional info or opinions on quality for the jtekt racks??

Very common for racks to show up like that.

I would not worry about the brand.

JTEKT is a supplier of Toyota parts.
Toyota was a big investor in the company that merged with JTEKT.

You can follow the trail if you like.
You’d be really surprised at how much Toyota is invested in “other” companies.
