I have been reading this forum on and off for as long as I can remember. I just sold my 1998 2wd V6 DLX to a buddy and instantly regretted it. I got sick of looking for a reasonably priced used taco/tundra so now I’m turning my attention to new. Figured I can hand down to my 8yo son in 8 years.

So now I’m in the market for a 4x4. Looking at either TRD OR or PRO. And intrigued by a manual option available in both. Figure the 90% of the time it’s on pavement I would prefer manual (will NOT be my DD) And when in the dirt I don’t see myself rock crawling. Basic overlanding with the kids.

I’ll be honest I’m cross shopping with a Gladiator and maybe even the Bronco. And since 2021 models are around the corner I’m hoping to get a good deal on 2020 or save on depreciation.....

    Welcome to TW.
I’d go with the Tacoma or wait for the Bronco.
You can probably do a lot better on the suspension mods yourself, vs the Pro.
If you don’t want to do your own mods, or care what other options are, get the Pro.

    Best of luck to you.
Even if you pick a different manufacturer, stick around everyone is welcome here.
