I have seen a 3rd gen with the 2nd gen's skid plate.
I also think there is a vendor that makes black 2nd gen skid plate and have advertised them for 3rd gens.

Added a germeslab front camera kit to 2020 Trd off-road - ordered direct from car solutions and shipped/arrived from Hong Kong within 4 days. Great install instructions from earlier posts- thx @daveeasa .

Yup! looks great. By chance, did you upgrade any other stereo equipment or just the sub? I'm thinking about that too!

And, my mod (sorry no pics...please whip me)...sound deadening the doors and roof! The doors took 30 min, but the roof...ughhh. Sunroof area was the hardest.

$96 audio control lc2i 2 channel line out converter with accubass and subwoofer control

audio control lc2i. Stock head unit. And I did swap the front speakers with pioneers.

 

Wonder in white distilled vinegar would work on chrome without hurting the plastic. I used it to degalvanize tie down handles in the bed and paint black. Left it outside in the sun for a few hours and the plating just chunked off. Cheaper than using cold galvanizing primer.

They need to re-think the location of that top bolt facing the cab. What a PITA when you have meat hooks for hands.
