    Hi all,

Finally found a 2nd gen access cab truck this week. Trying to figure out some kind of build that would allow me to take the front wheels off of two bikes and transport them in the bed, then take them out and sleep on a platform above the wheel wells, so that id have the 8 or 10 inches of storage under the bed at night. I have a mid rise topper, probably 3 or 4 inches above cab height. Anyone seen this done or have any ideas?

My thought was just to build a box that was about 8x8x74 to go over each wheel well, then rig up a spot to secure the front forks of 2 bikes in between. At night I could take the bikes out and lay some boards over the middle for a bed. A bit complicated but that's what I can think of.

    Thanks in advance!

I think you'll have a tough time finding a way to squeeze the bikes in there with an 8 inch sleeping platform. This is one of the reasons I chose not to build a platform with this truck in favor of just sleeping right on the bed. If I were you I'd either reduce the height of your platform, abandon the platform idea, or carry the bikes outside (roof or hitch rack). If you're building the platform for storage, maybe you could add storage on the sides of the bed, in front of and behind the wheel wells.
