Good morning guys! Gonna be a hot one today. I finished all my census training yesterday so tomorrow I begin pounding the pavement. HC Rear Bumper, here we come.. Once I have about half of the money, I'll place my order.

I thought about trying one of the Coastal Offroad ones, but I didn't want it to take 4+ months to weld mine together @SuperBad finish your front yet?:boink:

I think its now at 5+ months cause I'm slow and the whole day job thing is getting in the way... People with actual skill at welding and grinding finish much much faster. I should just quit my job so I can focus on getting it done. I mean who needs a job that pays me money for truck stuff and has insurance.:anonymous:
I have made some good progress recently but I'm slow at grinding and my welding keeps needing more filling and grinding again to make it look like 1 solid piece and look good. Its coming along though and looking better.

Thank you sir! I will definitely consider that. I haven't checked lead time from Brute Force but I hear the Coastal stuff ships quick. I would much rather pay you to weld it, if it meant I didn't have to wait months from Brute Force. Those 2 bumpers look very similar, so I'm not stuck on either one.

Just giving you a hard time. I'm stoked to see the final product. I couldn't stand driving with no front bumper for too long.

Its all good man, I deserve all of it. I originally thought it would be a 1 maybe 2 month project. Had I known I was going to be this slow I likely wouldnt have cut my bumper so long ago. I refuse to plan any trips until the bumpers on the truck. Working from home has made it easier having over 1/2 my bumper missing since I barely drive or even go out and see my truck. The best thing has been learning some new skills that I've always wanted to learn and I'm having a blast doing!
Thank you. I really have learned a ton. I will never be able to thank you enough for helping me learn all the new skills I have in doing this project.:hattip::bowdown:

I'm just excited to do some cutting on the bedsides. Everytime I look at my truck in the parking lot now, I see a saggy ass with the round bumper.

New MT's are the next thing I need to buy, but trying to hold out until Labor Day sales. Gonna go with the same Cooper Evolution MT's as @Silverspool But we're running these Hankooks ALL the way down. Not quite to the red, lol

I wish there were more C and D rated tire options. I really dont need or even want the extra weight or stiffness of E rated. With that said I can see myself giving in and going to an e rated tire in the future for more options...

I don't mind the penalty of weight and road manners because MT's just look good. I don't see myself going back to an AT even though they probably suit my 95% on road driving. One time MT's got me out of a deep puddle that AT's would not have. So, past experience also comes into play.

I actually loved the road manners when I had the MTR's. I think they drove and handled the best in all terrains on or off road. Easily the best tire of what I've had on my truck so far and they were D rated! They wore funky though and didnt last long because of it. Possibly my fault for not rotating enough. Also they where pricey for the short life with how much I drive around town. If I can keep working from home or get another daily I would go back to them or another M/T.

Those MTR's are a great looking tire, but DAMN are they pricey! I was comparing weight and those Cooper Evolutions are lighter than many of the popular MT and AT options. What do you run now? Nittos?

I did the same with my LRE pirellis. Love those tires but I didnt rotate them enough and they cupped pretty bad.

Yeah the MTR's are $$$ and heavy. I've had the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on for just over a year. I got a great deal on them too when I bought them, Couple rebates and a price match to walmart through DT. I think they ended up costing me like $170/180 a tire after rebates. They are wearing great and lasting well so far. Tons of tread left but I have only put 10k or less on them since I've only taken 1 trip to BBRSP and I've been working from home since march. They've been a good tire but I will probably go with something else next time because I like trying out new tires to see how the perform on my truck. No kidding about the weight of those coopers, The 285 E rated coopers weigh less than the 285 D rated MTR's I ran! Def makes the E rated more tempting and the price helps too.
Thats what mine did. I should probably get some jack stands so I can rotate mine easier...
    Morning

If you bought them at discount tire, they offer lifetime rotation and balance. Schedule an appointment and sit under a tree in their parking lot every 5,000 miles.
