I tow with my SOS Concepts high clearance rear. Doesn’t answer your exact question but may help a bit.

How much does what you tow weigh?

Somewhere in the range of 2500-3000lbs. I can tell you that the SOS rear bumper is built like a brick shithouse and is WAY more stout than the stock hitch. I’ll see if I can find a photo of the inside before it was powder coated.

First. SOS uses a dot rated hitch that’s welded into the center of their bumper.
Next they brace the rear of the hitch not only to the frame gussets, but also have the square tube that runs to the outside of the bumper. Therefore the strength of the hitch is more than oem.

That is a bumper currently being built for a customer. Picture sent to me today.

not to jack your thread OP. I’m sure a CBI bumper will pull fine.

That is very interesting. It is NOT what my bumper, built earlier this year looks like on the inside....

This is mine. Still built for the task, but I wonder why the redesign...

I think because that one has the added bedside protection. So they gusset it a bit more.

I might be pulling a 16' fishing boat that's around 2,500 pounds with my Pelfreybilt high clearance. Hopefully it's just as stout as the SOS...
