Hi. My wife and I are moving to Lynchburg so she can go to law school. Does anyone have any experience with the requirements for emissions testing there or in VA in general? Will they do a timing check? I have an aluminum crank pulley that doesn't have a timing mark. I don't relish reinstalling the stock one, but I will. I have all my cats in place and an oil catch can that can be removed as well.

    TIA!

We don't have tail pipe "sniff checks" in Tidewater. I think inspectors may look to see of there are any emission codes on the vehicle.

Not sure if Lynchburg does "sniff checks," but I doubt it.

Never heard of any dealership or mom and pop shop checking for emissions in the Burg area. If you are worried take it to a mom and pop shop. They'll check lights, brakes, tires, ball joints, steering and/or the normal stuff for wear and tear and send you on your way.
