GM all, I'm looking for guidance with a front suspension question for my 2017 Sport 2x4.

For months, I've been trying to track down and eliminate a metal-on-metal noise in my left front suspension components. Heard only when driving over speed humps and bumps and when the suspension is fully activated. I now believe that the OEM springs are the source of the noise. I've replaced the OEM struts with Bilsteins 5100's, however, I reused the OEM springs and after a few months, the noise returned.

I recently picked up a set of low mileage used compressed OEM off road struts and coil springs (yellow and blue Bilsteins). While looking closer at the OEM off road springs, I noticed the a total of 9 coils, while the OEM springs on my Sport have only 8 coils.

If I'm correct and the OEM off road components eliminate the metal-on-metal noise, will I need to realign the front end do to the extra spring coil?

Thanks for your input, hopefully this will eliminate the noise.

How much play in your drivers CV I to the diff? I'm suspecting this as a noise source right now. Do you hear it with the windows down only, I can not hear mine in the cab windows up
