Also, I know a lot of people are weary about car dealerships but they can order tires. And some of you were having trouble finding your tire size in the ATiii. I suggest checking with your local dealers to see if what your looking for is available to them. You will probably pay more, but if they have what you want then..:spending:

Working for a dealership does have its benefits, so for me everything was a breeze.

This applies to all tires, not just the ATiiis. You may not even have to get your tires installed with the them. Thats up to each individual dealership tho

Pro tip-when dealerships run the buy 3 tires get the 4th for 1.00, it’s no gimmicks. That’s better than employee price! lol

I’ll be getting them for my Pro when the stocks are done. My wife’s Z71 Tahoe was due. Her duratracs were done at 21k miles and we’re very noisy and slippery in the rain. Just installed the Toyo’s yesterday, (they got them the same day from their warehouse) 265/65/18 and it’s night and day! So quiet, albeit their new but they’re very sticky. We’ll see how long they last. We’re moving to Colorado in the next month or so, so they’ll have their time in the snow and will report back. So far I love them.

Just the at3 today on some pro wheels. They are the sl rated and still look fairly aggressive.

Well guys I just spent 3 days reading every post on this thread. Now I want them too.
    A have a few questions:
I have a new TRD Sport with 11,000 miles on it.
It has the stock 265/65/R17 Toyo tires on it.
I want the 265/70/R17 AT III. Will these rub on anything?
If they don't is there a way to adjust the speedometer or do I need to.
I've been using discount tires for over 30 years or more and probably buy them there and will they buy my old tires?

    Thanks

Yes they’ll fit. With such a small difference in size there is no need for calibration.

I put 265/70/R17s on my ‘12 Sport. With the stock wheels the didn’t rub. When I changed to wheels with zero offset, they only rubbed that front mud flap doodad full lock, in reverse.

Going up in tire size actually corrected my speedo.

As mentioned in the above post, the speedometer reads high with stock size.

I just mounted up a set of the new AT3s 255/70r17, they are great so far.
I've noticed a slight decrease in fuel economy but I do like slamming through gears on my manual transmission so I don't know if it's all the tires fault lol.

Anyone have any direct comparison experience with these and the Falken Wildpeak AT3W? I’m debating between these two for our 4runner.

Got a set of A/T IIIs. P265/70/17. I replaced a set of Cooper ATP LTs of the same size. The Toyos ride a lot smoother and are really quiet. I took at 500 mile trip right after I got them and they did seem to quiet down after a little wear in. Those Coopers were so loud at 80 mph I almost thought I had a wheel bearing going out from all the howling & vibration...

I'm not planning on getting new tires when I swap my new wheels on, but I've been looking at these as a backup plan depending on cost. 265/70R17, because I don't have a lift. Biggest decision would be SL vs E, the former saves eight pounds and about $50 on each one. I think if the cost was closer I'd go E-rated, but if I buy anything soon it's likely to be the SL rated.

I don’t know if the Open Country A/T IIIs E loads are any better. But I just got rid of a set of Cooper ATPs (only come in E). 25k and couldn’t stand them anymore. At the proper PSI for E loads they bounced around like an overinflated basketball and rode like shit. Aired them down to 30 psi for winter, got great traction and ended up leaving them there. Because of that, they didn’t wear right, got really loud an buzzy. Still rode like shit off road aired down. The Taco isn’t enough truck to need E loads. Never ran them before on my previous 2 sets and I’ll never run them again. The SLs are also nearly 15 lbs lighter per tire.

Anybody have experience with these and Ultraterrain AT? Trying to decide between them to replace my OEM Wranglers as they’re both fairly close in price.
