Thanks for setting this up. It was great to meet everyone and although a lot of the pre-scouted sites had people camping in them, we still managed to fill some bags with garbage. There will always be more, unfortunately, but now we all know where to head if we need something to do! After we split off from the group, we found a nice shady spot by a creek to make lunch and cleaned that area up as well.

After half the group left the 3 of us that were left ended up finding a big area with multiple sites completely empty by some miracle. We spent some time cleaning that up before we called it a day. The heat was killing me, I don't do well when it's that hot outside.

Really happy everyone came out and we had a good clean up!

    Learned some things.

    • Take pictures at the start and before people leave. I failed here hard. Pictures go a long way towards getting new people to come out next time.
    • Bring a bucket. Carrying around a heavy duty trash bag pretty much sucks. A bucket to carry and throw stuff in then put in the trash bags would have been great.
    • Perhaps meeting at a location with cell service would be wise. We had 2 peeps running late, though I didn't realize there were two until I got home. One found us later, the other we never did find. Could have saved us all from waiting 40 mins to see if they showed up.

Hah I must have missed you by a few minutes, and that’s quite generous you waited that long. Ended up rambling all over the place, camped on the west side of the bridge washout on Barlow Rd that night, went down to Badger Lake via Bennet Pass that morning after a nice breakfast. Went to the dump today, 100 lbs of trash collected!

So bummed I missed you guys, total cluster and frankly I have no idea how I ended up so late. Fall, after hunting season, is a good time to collect mucho trash. Ask me how I know. I’m keen to do it again!

Man now I want a BLT

Looks like you had better luck finding trash than the rest of us put together. I didn't see that much trash at all the sites we stopped at combined. Though I can only imagine all the sites we passed that were occupied with big groups and travel trailers were gonna need some love. Was joking with my fiance about those sites. We decided we were judgmental bastards, but that didn't mean we were wrong

I'd love to do a clean up on a Tue, Wed, or Thursday. I imagine that for the same reason those would be good days, most people wouldn't be able to make it out.

There were several times we I am fairly sure we got out of radio range with others in the group. Also possible people got out of their trucks and forgot the radios. I know I did a few times.

Didn't come along, but for future stuff, definitely added a box of trash bag to my truck supplies. Thanks for helping out.
