Hi, first post on here, but I've been using the information from the site the last couple weeks. Anyway, I bought an 06 4.0 4x4 with a bad motor, replaced it with a motor from a wrecked 06 4.0. I cannot get it to run right. It gives code p0300, random misfire, in addition to individual cylinders, p0172, p0174, p2196, and p2197.
    1. I checked for vacuum leaks using starting fluid.
    2. Has new plugs and intake gasket
    3. Replaced fuel pressure regulator.
    4. Changed maf
I have a cheap scan tool I've only used to check codes, but today I started looking at fuel trim. Bank 1 is -20, bank 2 is about +20. I tried reading up on trim, but don't get it. I feel this is my issue and what's giving all my codes. I am going to rent a fuel pressure tester this afternoon to check fuel pressure. Does anyone have any advice on what else to check? You can feel the miss in the truck idling, when I go down the road and give it gas it will hesitate and not go, then all of a sudden it will take the gas and shoot off. I appreciate any help.

What are the individual cycl #s that are throwing codes or are all 6. What is the description for 2196&97. Are the 0172 and 0174 codes O2 sensor codes they may just be frivolous to the missfire codes. Have you done a compression test? What about checked for spark and injectors working properly.

2196 is bank 1 sensor 1 02 stuck open rich
2197 is bank 2 sensor 1 02 stuck open lean
I replaced bank 2 sensor 1 and then I got another code saying bank 1 sensor 1 stuck open lean, where I was getting open rich before.
I've got all individual cylinder misfires, 1-6, no rhyme or reason.
I haven't done compression test or injector test, got to figure out how to do injector test.
    I've also replaced the computer.

Did you replace the coil boots when you replaced the spark plugs?

Could it be that you have a loose/missing ground or damage to the wire harness when the swap was done?
