Exterior Trim Adhesive?

GoFast Camper, Faulken WildPeak, TRD Pro (4Runner) Wheels), Goal Zero Yeti/Solar

2018/3rd Gen. I removed the roof channel trim to give it a good cleaning. There was a ton of soot in between the roof and trim. It appears the factory used a combination of tape and caulking. Suggestions to what to use to adhere it back- type of tape and caulking?
