I’ve always been a jeep guy, I’ve had a lot of them and up until two weeks ago had a extremely well built 4 Door Rubicon on 37’s. The Jeep was great but there just isn’t room for gear with the family getting bigger and it makes long trips a pain.

Anyways I sold the Jeep and was going to purchase a ford raptor, but after test driving one I decided they were way to big to drive in the woods and I would trash it short order if I used it the way I wanted. I thought about getting a Gen 1 Tundra but couldn’t find one they way I wanted and honestly I don’t have the time to start a fresh build.

I searched for about a week straight and finally found a Tacoma that I wanted. I drove and picked it Friday and had it in the woods on a camping trip an hour later. I defiantly think it will work out much better than the Jeep, I was surprised by all the additional storage under and behind the rear seats.

Here is a list of what’s done, I’m sure I’ll miss something.

2015 Toyota Tacoma trd sport 4x4
    72K miles

    - Icon Vehicle Dynamics stage 4 lift with billet upper control arms
    - Icon Alloy 17x9 rebound wheels with spare
    - 285/70R17 Kenda R/T tires with spare
    - CBI front aluminum bumper
    - smittybilt 10k winch
    - factor 55 ultra hook
    - Ridged Pods I’m Grill and on Hood
    - Ridged curves bar on Roof Rack
    - bulletproof fabrication grill
    - Pelfreybilt steel front skid
    - k & n cold air intake
    - switch pro panel
    - warrior products roof rack
    - CBI rock sliders
    - Wet okele waterproof front seat covers installed at purchase (brand new seats under)
    - Viair onboard air system with 2.5 gal tank
    - Firestone rear airbags with saddles
    - Fab Four rear bumper with spare tire swingout

All stock parts will came with the truck except rear bumper and front stock coil overs, I’ll probably end up putting the stock air box back on to help with dust control.

The only future mods I’m planning is to regear down to 4:88’s and install ARB lockers front and rear. I’ll also put a Canopy with Rood Rack on the back to keep our gear dry in long road trips. I’ll probably also toss the tire carrier and put the tire in the bed and on the roof if I need the room, After years of owning a Jeep I’ve about had it with swinging a tire out of the way every time I need in the back:)

So far I’m very happy with the truck, It defiantly won’t go all of the places I took the Rubicon but it will be way better 90% of the time.
