100% correct. And not going to get better in the near future. Posting this because it really provides context for what everyone looking to buy is facing:

I'm on the east coast and was shopping nationwide for a very specific build that I ultimately found.

I ran across several at Mountain States Toyota in Denver with the LED Headlights option code LG. That option was a must for me and if I remember correctly, they had at least 3 in Silver Sky with them. I was going to buy from them, but found one in the middle of the country specd the way I wanted.

No truck hold its value quite like a Tacoma
    Not a V8 gas guzzler
Way more dependable than most brand

I say this truck was made for this pandemic

boy I wish I was able to buy a tacoma in late march, i bet they were giving them away.... now the dealers will have the upper hand during this pandemic for a long time.

so who is going to travel far to get the truck and the price they want?

I wish I had bought in January, probably could have gotten an SR 4x4 for under 30k (hopeful)... these days forget investing in gold. Invest in Lego model kits and Tacomas

I guess as a lease? that makes sense for a business owner write-offs.

No,, just a purchase. My accountant said I needed several thousand in business expenses to save several thousand.
A new company truck was the simple solution.

Ferrell, I am not able to reply from the quote wise, not sure why... where are you in the east coast? Must be dirt cheap to fly in Colorado right now.

If you are on the East Coast, also look in CT. For example:

I'm in WV and flying to Oklahoma to pick up my OR. I was picky about options and this one was the closest to what I wanted option wise.

I spent several thousand on a truck to save several thousand in taxes.
I now have a nice truck for the business.

This is how it often shakes out for a business. If you spend X you can have Y more in deductions. We do it all the time -- sometimes for a vehicle, sometimes for new laptops, etc. You don't save any money, of course, because you have to spend it but you figure it is better to secure assets that you need -- and assets that have value for your business -- as opposed to paying the larger tax bill, losing the cash and then having nothing to show for it. Nothing untoward or illegal. Just good old fashioned accounting sense.

I got mine on the last day of March. Got a crazy deal. $4500 off MSRP and .00140 mf, which isn't that exceptional a mf for most cars but is for a Tacoma.
