Has anyone installed one of these? Wondering how well you can screw it into the area under the drivers‘ side dashboard and what if any damage it might do. These allow you to rack your handgun.

We used two-sided gorilla tape instead and works like a charm! Have one in the 4Runner. Still need to do the Taco though.

Does it hold strong enough to rack the slide? How will the tape ever come off if you resell?

I’m assuming it’ll leave holes in the dash.

Not to insult anyone's intelligence.. but airbags deploy at a high rate of knots.

If the situation calls for the immediate response with a gun, the last fucking thing I want to be doing is trying to manipulate the slide to chamber a round. if you are uncomfortable with having a loaded weapon, you shouldn't carry it.

When I carry, it's usually an officer model 1911, cocked and locked. The number of clueless "experts" that think that is unsafe is incredible. 109 year old designs survive for a reason. More negligent discharges are attributed to striker fired polymer pistols than any other design.

No one is going to wait for you to chamber a bullet.

many agree with you but a 1911 isn't for everyone. but you already know.

I use one of these in my night stand drawer. I think putting one of these in your car is a sub optimal idea for many reasons. Sticking one of these in your car with tape is sub-sub optimal.

Finally, carrying an unloaded weapon for self defense is pretty useless.

nothing to cover the trigger guard, makes me feel like an accident waiting to happen..

I would just take the clip off a kydex holster and mount it to the left of the console

I use a magnet mount without the rims to slide. My biggest complaint is because the magnet is so strong it is very easy if you are not careful to point it somewhere you didn't intend to when removing in a hurry. But yeah, keep that ish locked and loaded.

Just my opinion, and I know they are like assholes and everyone has one, but please don't leave weapons in your vehicle. They are just waiting to be stolen.

The hell with those cheap baby dick wood screws they send... drill 1/8" holes and use long pop rivets... be sure to add back washers to the rivets for maximum hold... Do not use DS tape or those cheap screws... Tape will eventually fail in the heat... and the screws supplied will tear out..

    Lol

I like my .357 revolver. Dont have to chamber anything and leaves a really big hole, lol. Just squeeze the trigger. I dont leave the hammer cocked either. If you dont have dainty little fingers, you are good, lol. LC9s see work on occasion, but a .357 gets more use.
