The stock Michelin’s that came on my truck have traveled 52k, which is a little more than I would have guessed. However later today they will be replaced with new tires. I am planning to the OEM Michelin’s again but though I would ask for suggestions. It is a Limited and a city truck. It doesn’t need off-road tires.

For an on road LT tire its hard to beat Michelins. I have put them (LTX?) on several vehicles and had them have tremendous service life. They wear like iron and drive well on road. When brand new they actually do okay off road too as long as its not too muddy.

Great choice to stick with them. My Explorer has 40K on Michelin’s and still going strong! They are also great in the rain and snow!

I was just about to ask that, I"m 100% street but can't seem to get away from the o/r look of knobby tires, street tires never look
right on any truck I've ever owned and there have been many! :D I'm sure those ride a hell of a lot better than the KO2's I run.

Sure wish I could get 52k miles out of a set of tires!

Stick with what you know and like OP. I’m going to purchase Michelin Defenders next go around.

I’m used to getting 45-50k out of all the mud tires I run. I’d imagine a Michelin could get WAY more!

Chalk test your new set to get a good pressure. Those look like they were running a bit too high.

I just replaced the tires that came on my truck when i bought it used, went with Cooper Evolution H/Ts. Only have a few thousand miles on them, but so far they are treating me good. This is my first set of HT/SL Rating tires, used to E rated MTs/ATs so it feels like im driving on a rail that is completely silent :rofl:65D1AA7B-E0F4-4149-A3DE-7651FC9162CC.jpg

I got 70k on a set on a ford explorer, and 65k on my 4runner with the Michelin LTX IIRC. Both sets were still drivable when removed. They will initially wear like normal tires, but the deeper rubber in the tread is different (harder) and wears really well without being "slick" or chipping etc.

I think I'm going to put some Michelins on my wife's 4runner. She doesn't offroad and Michelins are great road tires!

I have the Cooper Evolution MTs and I think they are a wonderful tire so far. Loud as crap though!

A good friend of mine got almost 80K out of his original Michelin's, can't beat them for street tires

That's been my experience. They last forever. Great tires. Put them on my Subaru.

Got mud tires on the Taco though.

On my last truck I had Bridgeston Dueler Alenzas and put a little over 80k miles on them. Very quiet tires.

Michelin only makes good things, it's a shame they don't offer any AT tires.

I think their motorcycle tires are overpriced and overrated. Their truck tires won't wear out and give me an excuse to get the AT tires I actually want... damn that durability!

They do offer an AT. It's not very aggressive though. LTX A/T2

No mud tires. They should offer better of both.

Dude for some reason the GTi platform is so harsh on tires. Could never understand why. My AWD A3 8P ate tires so fast. Same on my brothers mk6 gti.

My first thought when I saw uneven wear in the photo in the original post, as well.
