BAMF rear diff skid 8.75 inch axle

Just bought this skid since it’s far superior to the RCI diff skid. The price was a bit high but it’s on sale people. Check it. Maybe someone created a thread already but I didn’t see one.

Oh that’s not good. I wonder if the issue has been addressed? Hopefully that was a one off thing. I know the website talks about modifying a skid plate. Doesn’t say anything about moving the gas tank.

Listing says in bolt letters to check clearance with the gas tank. Maybe ask @JLee directly. The 8.75" version a more recent offering. Not sure how extensively it's been checked for fitment. (The gas tank has a great deal of variation, being located by just two straps.)

 

I bought RCI skids last month, Wish this was around then. I was a little put off by the gas tank clearance thing.

 

It was hit or miss on the 8.75" skid with the tank clearance that way we say to check it some had 1/2" some next to none. We changed the clamps to bring the bolt a little closer to the axle as we seen more aftermarket springs bring the axle even closer at full stuff, We still recommend checking clearance as the tank is mounted with straps so it could be slid back some. there is not much room in that spot. the tank can be less than a inch from the axle at full stuff in some cases.

 

That’s good to know. I’ll still set the truck at full bump and check clearance.

 

How much does this BAMF diff skid weigh?

I'm guessing around 20 lbs by the look of it?
